Red Creasted Cardinal

A fabulous colourful bird from South America. The Red Creasted Cardinal is somewhat excitable but the fantastic look of the bird makes him a favourite cage bird.

In the wild the Red Creasted Cardinal is found in Brazil and from Argentina through to Bolivia.

The female is only slightly less briliant in colouring than the male, they live singly or in pairs in the damp bushy plains and like most canaries are seed eaters.
