
The Cordon Bleu is also known as the crimson eared waxbill. Inhabiting higher ground in Africa, it is not common but can be found from North and NE Africa down to equatorial Africa - Zaire.
Naturally if you were a chef and you had an aviary then this beautiful little bird would have to be a must for your collection.
It is a resident bird and builds a perculiar nest which seem to hang in bush like random heaps of straw, they lay 4 to 6 pure white eggs.
